Donations for the slain Mumbai Police Constables' Families during the recent terror attacks

As you are all aware, quite a lot of lives were lost during the recent Mumbai terror attacks which also included some policemen. While the high ranked officials are generally well off, we all are aware that the constables usually are not.

Impressed by the suggestion of one of my cricket team members who suggested the idea of pooling in some donations and donate it to the families of these constables' families directly. The idea of handing over the amount directly to the families would not only avoid reduction in the amount due to the overheads of the NPOs but also its misuse. A cousin of mine has volunteered to personally hand over the check to the families. The list of the policemen who lost their lives are listed on http://www.mumbaipolice.org/ and we were thinking of donating at least Rs 10,000/- for each of the constables' families. Hence the target is to raise at least $1600; anything more is good too.

Please do email/call me if you wish to donate for this noble cause. Please note that this fund raiser is not through CricBay and hence the donations are not tax deductible.
